Employers’ organisation CEO recommends ‘Klaxon’ to book club

Since Klaxon was published, nearly 6 months ago it has attracted many favourable reviews on Amazon.

The word about the book has also spread to organisations that are actively addressing the issues that Klaxon articulates through the power of a story.

One of these organisations is EIDA - the Employers Initiative on Domestic Abuse.

Not long after her appointment as CEO of EIDA in December 2022, Susan Bright read a copy of Klaxon.

Susan has held senior management roles in British business and the City, including as Managing Partner for global law firm Hogan Lovells’ UK and Africa region for eight years. She is a non-executive Director of the City Mental Health Alliance and is also a trustee of 50:50 Parliament, which helps women progress in politics.

This is what Susan said about Klaxon:

“Klaxon is a compelling read which kept me engrossed until the last page.

More importantly, it gives a convincing insight into how easy it is to get trapped in a controlling relationship, how hard it can be to leave, and questions the role of family, friends and work colleagues, who suspect what is going on.

Domestic abuse is not widely understood or acknowledged. It can happen to anyone from all walks of life; it is all around us, yet largely unseen.

This book will help raise awareness and I’m recommending it to my Book Club since it will generate a great discussion.”
